Our award-winning Bioland mulled wine is top in its class. Made from our Palatinate red wine, pre-cooked with whole organic spices and brought to a pleasant sweetness with organic sugar. Just warm it up and it’s ready.

Drinking recommendation

There’s an old saying that if you make a good wine, you can make a good mulled wine. This week we take the old boiling pot out of the corner, the red wine cuvée is put together, and the organic spices are mixed. The whole area around the winery, and especially downwind, smells of the hot drink. Three days of heating are necessary to boil the brew, after which it is filtered and bottled. Now it is certain – Christmas is coming.

The vine

A wine cuvée from our estate’s native red grape varieties, Regent, Dornfelder and Sankt Laurent.

– The southern Palatinate –
One of the most colorful German red wine. The smell is reminiscent of currant and cassis. In the finish you can taste very light wood, this comes from the short storage in used barrique barrels. Open this wine a few hours before you actually want to drink it, then drink half a glass and leave the rest without closure in a well-tempered environment. The wine will then unfold its true self. Try it, it’s worth testing.

Drinking recommendation

If the winemaker is having a pizza, then a Regent is on the table as a companion to the most Italian of all dishes. Likewise with dark meat, such as roast beef. It is also an excellent companion to game terrines and pâtés. Also highly recommended with mild to slightly savory cheeses.

The vine

The Regent is an interspecific cross. This means that it is resistant to the most aggressive fungal diseases (Piwi), such as Peronospora and Oidium. Cultivated since 1996, Regent is also excellent as a home vine.

Levity makes sexy!

A semi-dry light red wine that impresses with its simplicity. Due to the low alcohol content of this wine, you can enjoy two glasses of this fruity cuvée without remorse. Portugieser, Dornfelder and Regent are the founding members of this blend. In the finish, the slight sweetness gives a great drinking pleasure.

Drinking recommendation

Just skip any food and drink this wine comfortably on your terrace. Let the warm rays of the sun tickle you and ask yourself when was the last time you did something a little frivolous and crazy (in a positive sense).

The Cuvée

A cuvée of Portugieser with some Dornfelder and Regent. Portugieser is an old vine that has been grown in the Palatinate for many centuries, it tends to produce thinner red wines. Dornfelder is colorful, going into purple, and brings fruity flavors of cherries. Regent brings the southern aromas into the glass.
