Pinot Blanc

Art.-Nr.: 04

A traditional classic for the Palatinate and one of the winemaker’s favorites. If you are a fan of light yet expressive wines, this Pinot Blanc will delight you. As you let it slide down your gullet, a sweet honey flavor sets in, even though the wine is made dry. Dry but not sour. The slight residual sugar gives it a lingering finish.

Food recommendation

This Pinot Blanc will enhance any meat dish. It does not try to outdo the food, but harmoniously blends in with it. The winemaker himself drinks this Pinot Blanc with roasted pork with a fine sauce, with veal shoulder, lamb or roast beef.

The vine

Pinot Blanc is a mutation of Pinot Gris, which in turn is a mutation of Pinot Noir. The first appearance of this variety was in the 14th century in Burgundy. The vine loves a deep, nutrient-rich, fresh soil in sunny, warm locations. The wines achieve the highest quality in good years. The wines are full-bodied, mild and neutral.
