Chardonnay – Edition “P”

Art.-Nr.: 37

Edition “P” is the new line with vines from our best site, the Pfaffenberg. On this south-facing slope with slightly chalky and sandy, loamy soil grows the highest quality wines of our wine village. Since the 14th century, the Speyer monastery has planted vineyards on this piece of land. This is how the slope got its name “Pfaffenberg” (Pfaffe is an old German word for priest). The yield is greatly reduced to just under 4000 liters per hectare. A full-bodied, powerful white wine that smells of butter and ripe pineapple. On the palate some mango and pineapple, reminiscent of fruit soaked in honey, very full-bodied. A mild acidity is built into the wine.

Drinking suggestions

Open this wine when the day's work is done and you can let your feet dangle. A quiet evening with music or a book, accompanied by this wine, will encourage you to relax, dream and sharpen your senses. You will realize that drinking wine is more! A play of acidity, sweetness, and aromas on the tongue.

The vine

The most cultivated white wine variety in the world. Since 1992 also permitted for cultivation in Germany. The Chardonnay is a variety of the White Burgundy, named after the commune of the same name in the Maconnais. It provides a slightly higher quality than the Pinot Blanc. The vine is also used in the production of champagne.
