Drinking suggestions

It goes well with any kind of salad, but also with turkey, all other poultry dishes and mushroom risotto. A wine that ideally adapts to the food at 10° Celsius. It is also recommended with rabbit stewed in white wine or potato soup. It is also a pleasant companion to all seafood.

The vine

Pinot Gris, Pinot Grigio or Ruländer owes its name to the color of its grapes, which have a slight grayish tinge. As the name suggests, this high-quality grape originally comes from Burgundy in France. However, since the variety prefers chalky and stony subsoils, many growing areas in Germany are also perfectly suitable. And it is here that Pinot Gris is becoming increasingly popular - 5,000 hectares of cultivated land are already dedicated to Pinot Gris. The Pinot Gris grape has white flesh with a pink berry skin which normally produces white wines with a yellowish appearance. In particularly sunny years or if fermented on its mash also as a rosé.
