Riesling – Edition “P”

Art.-Nr.: 23

Edition “P” is the new line with vines from our best site, the Pfaffenberg. On this southern slope with slightly chalky and sandy, loamy soil, grow the highest quality wines of our wine village. Since the 14th century, the Speyer monastery has planted vineyards on this piece of land. This is how the slope got its name, “Pfaffenberg” (Pfaffe is an old german word for priest). While tasting it, its fruity aromas like apple and peach, its residual sugar which gives hints of honey and the acidity that have a lemon like taste all add up and make this wine such a complex pleasure. And last but not least, the aroma is completed and rounded off by a slight touch of dark chocolate. An experience not to be missed.

Drinking suggestions

This wine is perfect with salads, light fish, such as: Halibut or trout. But the Riesling also goes well with lightly prepared chicken.

The vine

The Riesling is probably the oldest grape variety that exists in the Palatinate. Origin still disputed. It is believed that the vine is descended from a Rhenish wild vine, Vitis vinifera Silvestris. The Riesling is a late-ripening variety, which is characterized by its flavor nuances and a strong, harmonious acidity.
