The vine

Muscatel is one of the oldest cultivated grapes, which is why there are a great number of variations. Probably the origin of the grape variety is in Anatolia. Phoenician and Greek colonists spread the Muscat in the eastern Mediterranean area. Later, the Romans appreciated the Greek "passum" as a particularly noble wine. In the sources, the Muscatel is often called Greek wine or Cyprus wine. The vine is a very old, high quality grape, spread all over the world.
